The past two days I have been learning how to sew. Not only is it completely cost effective (thanks Mum for the free lessons, fabric, pins, pattern and use of your sewing machine) but again good for sustainability.
And cheap, let’s be honest.
Lucky for my sister and I my Mum has quite a collection of fabrics and patterns stored from the 80’s and 90’s that are all pretty in vogue, so we have both decided to go old school and sew. My clever sister has taken it one step further to knit, but that is way too co-ordinated for me. “Made it myself” still doesn’t have the same ring to it that “Marc Jacobs” does when someone asks where my frock is from, but that’s ok.
I will have to learn how to sew a frock though. No point getting ahead of myself.
